The problem with this is that you run the risk of losing good people when you abuse them overworking them.
Secondarily, what that idea really us promoting is putting the employees in charge of who ya hire. THEY have to be happy with whoever you select.
That dog won't hunt in my companies. My expectations for everyone are all the same and I reward liberally to all who decide to get on MY bandwagon and roll. Anyone else will not be around for long...
AND, I couldn't care less what other employees think regarding my personnel selections as I selected THEM as well and at that time they grateful and there were always 20 people not employed that would love to have their jobs...
