One week away from home and I'm definitely ready to go back. For one thing, my friend is very short-tempered and a lot of it is directed at me. While I'm more the "don't sweat the small stuff" sort, he keeps getting upset. "You left the Keurig [coffee] cup in the machine again!" "You left the door to the clothes washer room open again!" "Why did you take a new spoon for your coffee when I left mine out for you to use???" "You missed our turn!" (which causes a total delay of maybe 60 seconds).

I've gotten to where I introduce myself to his friends as "Oscar" - and let them know that his new name is "Felix." It fits.

So, the thing is that my friend is INCREDIBLY stressed. His wife is in an acute care facility recovering from spinal surgery, and my friend is about 95% blind. She's got other problems as well. That's why I'm here, to help him. It's also a part of why he's so stressed. But when I volunteered to come and be his transportation, I didn't realize he would be quite so much of a pain in the ass! Ah well. He's got 15 years on me, and you old guys are just crotchety sticklers, I think.

I'm here for at least another week, and probably a few days longer since I'm not going to leave unless his wife is home. But wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.
