Hi De!

1. C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S !!!!!!! fine job there dad and mom!

2. IS the Bow at the end of the pictures Joey? Cannot tell but he is a good size young adult.

3.YOU are to be commended for all the effort you put into building a set. Not many people would do that.

4. "Your lives will be changed". Yes , they will. Ours did when our daughters went off to college. They did well and became more mature and we were still there, only in the background watching and prepared to help only if called upon... And we were a couple times.....

Every parent comes to a point in life when their child grows up and starts to become somewhat independent and finally, the day comes when they start their own life with their wife or husband and start their own families.

It can be somewhat difficult for the parents as they have always been there and close to the kids.

Being there for them never changes. It is distance that changes and then you have to let them make all the decisions before them themselves and STAY OUT OF IT unless asked..... TOUGH trick to learn and do.

You will have some sadness and heartache along the way and you will MISS your child. But he is growing and becoming a young man.

One you have laid the foundation for. If you have a strong foundation then he can springboard off it quite successfully and it looks like he is doing just fine...

It has been fifteen years since I gave my youngest daughter away at her wedding. Saddest day of my life.
Happy for her though.

Take a moment and just relish the accomplishments of your son and know that he is going to be just fine at UVA and will continue to grow as a fine young man that you can continue to be proud of.....

Good job. Well done!

micro... Thumbs Up

Now it's August in my 'busiest year ever' and I'm probably six months away from retiring.

I spent a chunk of July working evenings and weekends building the set for 'Willy Wonka,' in which my son was cast. It was a huge hit, and I've never been so proud. We've already moved away from our little town, so I'm viewing the show's completion as my son's final farewell to it. Talk about leaving on a high note.

He leaves for college in just three weeks, so the show's end feels almost like his "Goodbye" to us, too. Life will be very different from now on but it has to go on. We can't just sit still re-living the memories.

That said, here are some memories from that fine production:
