micro: re: "I wonder if those delicious NJ peaches would grow up there. "
I don't know about NJ peaches, but I hear peaches will grow there. Apples too. In fact, I've got apple trees already on both properties. re: "A cow a year means a small herd, with the breeding pair to produce the offspring for slaughter."
A cow a year means I buy a calf every spring and slaughter a cow every fall. Because of the need to store food, it's hard to keep cows through the winter. re: "Then there's pumpkins and melons and squash. "
They do grow those. In fact, there's a pumpkin festival each year that might be the largest in the country. re: "Berries do well. "
Yep. I know people with raspberries, and I've found blueberries growing wild amidst the grass of the 20 acre field. re: "Are you going to make clothes from the wool? "
I think so. I will give them to my wife as Christmas presents. re: "Surmountable issues, but stuff to be addressed. I was just concerned that you realize the financial implications so you don't run short."
I think I'm good in that respect. I will have some big cash outlays for the next three years, but thereafter I will have more money coming in than going out. Then, down the road a bit, I might even get money from Social Security. And, my goal all along is to greatly reduce my spending. I should be able to cut way back - with the chief thing that's not under my control being property taxes. Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months |
