That is expensive. Part of the cost of the house though.

Do you know what the depth of the frost line is New Hampshire per chance?

re: "De is now a transient"

Being a transient is pricier than you'd think. I sent my excavator a fat check last week and just yesterday received this estimate on pouring the foundation:

160’ x 8” x 4’ wall w/2 #4 rebar
2 2’ x 1’ pier pads w/2 #4 rebar E.W.
2 pier
480 SQ. FT. 4” slab w/# 10 wire

There's some risk that the concrete truck will not be able to get up the driveway. I'm therefore arranging to have a bulldozer present to give it an additional push, should that be needed. Fortunately, the guy doing the excavation says he doesn't use his that often and he doesn't mine parking it there for the week of the pour.

My builder thinks I'll have a foundation poured and capped (I can't say that I really know what that means but I gather that it's important to do before the freeze comes) and the first floor pretty well framed this year. However, the first big winter storm could arrive as soon as October or as late as January, and that plays a big role in how much actually gets done.
