We made it to York at about 2:00pm. They say the population of the town will nearly double by tomorrow, to well over 10,000 people. A couple of the adjoining counties have already run out of gas (we filled-up just before we arrived).

It's bright and sunny today. Now if that will just hold out for tomorrow as well.

We've started our trip back from Michigan. We had a great time while in Michigan, visiting family members on both sides as well as some old friends. We visited both the Gerald R. Ford Museum (in Grand Rapids) and his Library (in Ann Arbor), as well as one of the city museums in Grand Rapids as well as sculpture and botanical garden.

We spent last night in Rockford, IL, with a friend and left early this morning. We stopped and visited the Ulysses S. Grant home and museum in Galena, IL. Then we stopped at the movie set where they filmed the movie "Field of Dreams". Then this afternoon we stopped at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch, IA. We're stopped in Des Moines for the night. Tomorrow we head to York, NE, for the eclipse but on the wya out of the Des Moines area we plan to stop see the "Bridges of Madison County".
