I was studying this weekend as I am want to do and digging in my favorite Book of the Bible, HEBREWS.
For those who do not know, Hebrews is the place that ties together all the OLD TESTAMENT prophesies and revelations with Christ.
Here is one instance of such that became crystal clear to me and I thought I would share it with you in the form of a BIBLE TRIVIA question.
When the earth was formed,and on day 6, whose voice actually spoke and said "Let US create man in OUR own image" ???
IF you chose the Lord Jesus Christ, you would be correct.
WHY??? Can You prove that?
Well, yes I can..
The Person we know of as JESUS CHRIST is also declared to be The SON of GOD and GOD the SON. He is the Second person of the Triune GODHEAD.
In the Book of Genesis we have the account of Creation and ALL THREE PERSONS of the GODHEAD were present, the Father, SON, and the Holy Spirit.
But, only ONE of the members SPOKE and DID the CREATING of EVERYTHING.
The Universe, SUN, MOON, STARS, all the planets and worlds in it, including earth and all LIFE forms including mankind, male and female.
BUT,
back to the trivia question. Here is the answer:
It was none other than the SON of GOD who SPOKE and said "let us make man in our own image". HE DID SO in obedience to the FATHER'S WILL. GOD the FATHER WILLED that all Creation be made and The SON BY HIS POWER spoke and all the worlds came into existence....
Let us look at HEBREWS chapter 1, verses 1 - 3
" 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had* by himself purged* our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Verse 1 tells us that GOD SPOKE in times past in various ways and at various times.
In Genesis 1, verses 1,6,9,11,14,20,24,28, 29 it is written that "GOD SAID". He audibly SPOKE at Creation.
WE SEE the HOLY SPIRIT in verse 2 also as HE moved upon the Waters....
Verse 1 of Genesis we see that GOD CREATED Heaven and the Earth.
HOW did HE create them? HE WILLED that they be created and GOD THE SON SPOKE the into existence By his power.
Let's look at Hebrews chapter 1 and verse 2:
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
It was the will of God the FATHER that GOD THE SON fulfilled by HIS POWER of creation in obedience to the FATHER.
Jesus Christ The SON of GOD is GOD. He is the second person of the trinity.
Verse 8 of Hebrews 1: The FATHER is describing The SON when HE says " But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever:"
SO,
the conclusion of the matter is that it was GOD the SON who audibly spoke at CREATION in obedience to the will of GOD the FATHER, whome he ever liveth to please and be obedient to, even the death of the cross in order to complete the FATHER's plan of Redemption for all mankind if they would but simply look to HIM and trust HiM alone, HIS finished works, not your own, for
for salvation and eternal life with HIM in the place HE went to prepare for you so that where HE IS, there you may be also.
Just thought I would share a little bit of Biblical truth I tied up all the ends together with this weekend....
