Uh, Sire Ribit ....

The direction of movement of the shadow is not solely dependent on the direction that the two bodies are moving.

It also depends on the relative speeds of both objects with respect to the fixed point.

Does the sun 'move' faster across our sky, or the moon ?
(24 hours vs. 30 days)

Ok, say the moon is over Colorado, and the sun comes up from the east. As the sun gets higher and higher, the moon eventually casts a shadow. Where does that shadow FIRST appear - to the east of Colorado, or to the west ?

Now, as the sun gets higher, does the shadow move Closer to the moon or further away ?

Aw, heck - it doesn't even take two moving objects.

Try a simple pole in the ground. When the sun comes up - shadow to the west. At noon, shadow is shortest, directly in line with the pole, as sun sets, shadow to the east. Ergo and QED - Shadow moves West to East.

Shirley, ye are jesting sire - and that was a good piece of satire. Appreciate it.

(Above explanation was actually for benefit of the other board ... just in case the horse's ass bit at the bait.) *s*

Eclipse: False Flag!

...the sun moves across the sky from east to west, the moon moves across the sky from east to west (sorta). All of a sudden the shadow is going to move across the ground from west to east. Typical gubmint operation. Poor planning from A - Z.
