De,

I think you're right about it being a California municipality who wants to cut pensions -- Marin County. The story was about a woman whose pension was cut or going to be cut something crazy like 30-40%.

Ok, I looked and couldn't find that specific story, but there's a slew of them, since the CA supreme court is getting ready to rule on it. Throw pension cuts in california into google and it will come right up.

It fits right in with minimum income the Left is pushing. I saved this story from Natural News:

Media now pushing claims that being unemployed is healthier than holding down a “stressful” job … all part of the push toward “basic monthly income” welfare

re: "Just read California is slashing pensions of retired government workers."

Really? That's a HUGE story if the state is really resorting to that,. Is it possible you mean certain California municipalities, not the state? Because that wouldn't surprise me. Vallejo, for instance, is all but bankrupt and has no choice.

California WILL go bankrupt, but I didn't think it was to the point of cutting pensions. Not yet.

If you have the story handy, please post the link. I'm sure it's interesting.
