about FDR

It was eighteen years after he died before a couple of academics revealed the real cause of the depression (http://press.princeton.edu/titles/746.html). That opened the gates for other economic historians to conduct an epidemiological analysis of his endless stream of errors.

No matter. The Depression was a scarring experience and this clown was seen as doing something! to alleviate the pain. That hero status was embedded in the national consciousness and remains common even today.

Amity Shlaes has a pretty good compilation of subsequent analysis in THE FORGOTTEN MAN. Worth the read.

All of a sudden, history matters. Sheesh.

Let me tell you about FDR. There could be more to the story that I don't know, but he seems to be responsible for the mess we're in today. He moved in the Russians, under the radar, who infiltrated our institutions and began the liberal movement and conversion to Socialism. If they're gonna rename Roosevelt Island, it should be for that reason!

FDR also gave the Russians 7 boxes of information on how to make nukes. Bad move. Many think he was a communist. He crertainly had a lot of them around him.
