...mz ribit once bought a 100 foot garden hose for 97 cents. Hooked it up and turned it on. There was a kink in the line and within a couple of seconds it looked like a garter snake eating a watermelon (whole). Then it busted. I told her to toss it in the trash but no, she had to return it and get her money back. Hint, it took more than 97 cents worth of gas to go to the store and back. A couple of months later she bought another one cause they had marked em down to 84 cents. Mz ribit usually has pretty good sense but she starts frothing at the mouth if she senses a bargain anywhere around her. If a guy named Clearance ever comes along she will likelyh leave.

You know, you CAN cancel an order so long as you do it before you pay. I had to do that once when I accidentally clicked on BID and won some stupid thing I didn't want. Tophatter says that if you cancel too many times they will drop you as a customer. I don't think I'm in any danger.

I'm not surprised if a lot of Tophatter's merchandise is junk. Just look how cheap it is, after all. But hopefully not all of it. Those toilet bowl lights, for instance, probably aren't junk. They've been selling them on on TV! I don't know why anyone would want to have what's in their toilet lit up nice and bright, but I guess for some people it's a source of pride. Maybe when there's a particularly large or colorful one, they call the wife and kids in to have a look. That's a big money saver over a night spent at an art gallery or movie.
