It can be eaten after a year if it's been dried, canned, frozen, pickled, freeze dried, smoked or salted.

On the other hand, if you're figuring that 12 months is the absolute limit on finishing the pizza that's been sitting on the bottom shelf of your fridge . . . thank you but I'll have to pass.
