Lkorrow: re: "I'm actually looking for a place I can sell my old coins and stamps, as well."
I wish you luck, especially with the stamps.
Before my friend retired three years ago, he was trying to unload his stamp collection. His kids didn't want it and the best offer he was getting from dealers was 40 percent on the dollar. These were NEW U.S. stamps - an almost complete collection of sheets and plate blocks from 1976 and on, with others dating back to 1933. I offered him 70 cents on the dollar and he took me up on it - so I've now got a huge collection of new stamps. (I haven't done anything with stamps since I was a kid, but I hope to get back into it in a few years. I bought some huge batches of used stamps on Ebay a few years ago. I just need go through 'em and fill the albums.)
So, 70 cents on the dollar was the best he could do, and my friend was delighted to get that much. I used to think that new stamps were comparable to money but they're actually worse! Who'd have believed that? Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months |
