re: "Sounds familiar. 'cept I don't collect anymore."

I've collected many things over the years. Not much of it has value but I struggle to get rid of it because of my concerns for the future. Hence, I'm adding significant storage space to the new barn for that sort of thing. Of that, 500 sqft will be "finished" - so that bugs and rodents shouldn't be able to get in - and kept at room temperature. That's where I'll keep things like stamps, liquor, food and books. The rest of the storage will be for anything from generators and tools ... to skis and snow shoes ... to alfalfa and mouse poison. I can enclose and finish more of the space if I ever have the need.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

De, I just collect for fun. ... My old collection, by the way, was comprised almost exclusively of *used* stamps, obtained at little or no cost. I soaked 'em to get them off the paper... sorted and replaced them as better copies became available, etc. My investment was one of time, but I enjoyed it so I don't really think of it as a "cost."

Sounds familiar. 'cept I don't collect anymore.
