My mother lives in Miami - alone. I was going to fly there to drive her out, but my brother in Alabama said he would drive down. He is there tonight and they will be leaving in the morning. I just hope he has enough gas.
Some 'family' folks live in S florida are in the direct (if anybody knows what that is) path or hurricane Irma. It's five days out and they claim they cannot escape cause they can't get a hotel reservation. Later on they called back and said they had found a hotel in Orlando. Thus having removed themselves from the bullseye out to the 9 ring they are all happy now. If I was in the path of Irma and was going to evacuate Nashville would be closer to my idea of safe than Orlando, but that's just me.
