Yeah - I caught that 'forged' letter notice last night. No canceled postage stamp was the basis for calling it 'forged' - and a weak argument that 'handwriting' indicated a female (who would not be a racist, since ONLY white heterosexual males can be racists), between the ages of 40-50 wrote the letter .... implying that the coach's wife MAY have written the letter.
If forged - gotta call it 'stuck on stooopid'.
If not forged - gotta call it 'stuck on stoopid'.
Ya dun did a thorough dissection of the whole shebang, Mr. Wizard - and I humbly bow to your expertise in the football arena.
As for monkey - He quit watching or caring about college futz-ball ever since the demise of the Southwest Conference for A&M and UT.
...Hmmm - maybe mt really quit caring about college football after a full season of cleaning the stadium after games to pay for the costs of A&M's water polo and swim team.
Peanut shells are a right bloody booger of a b*tch to sweep up across rough concrete. *s*
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good ...

I sure hope she didn't forge that letter ... THAT would be stupid, Stupid, STUPID!
I don't care ... and I firmly believe that the vast majority of fans DO NOT CARE ... whether the football coach is white, black, brown, yellow, red, or green with purple polkadots ... it's the skill, drive, smarts, and hopefully calm demeanor they bring to the football field that counts. But, college football is an intense pressure cooker ... if your team doesn't win and continuously contend for championships ... right, wrong, or indifferent, the coach's ass is in the meat-grinder. BUT, these major college coaches get paid MILLIONS of dollars each year, so they should certainly expect that pressure to come along with those huge sums of cash, don'tcha know!
Personally, I think Sumlin has been a really good coach. Hell, I still think a lot of good things about Charlie Strong, the ex-Longhorn coach. But, Charlie's management skills on the sidelines ... at least while he was at UT ... were piss-poor. He consistently made obviously terrible decisions. So, unfortunately for him, he clearly demonstrated that he was not worth what he was being paid and got fired. Sumlin IS responsible for A&M's recent (and totally avoidable) loss to the UCLAs. HE needs to own THAT ... that's why he gets paid the big bucks. Time will tell how much more grace the A&M fans are willing to give him ... if the Aggies win out the rest of the season and play for a national championship, I can almost ... no ... make that "guarantee" ... that this UCLA debacle will be forgotten in a heartbeat. However, if this publicized letter turns out to be bogus and Sumlin's wife (or at her behest) forged it ... well ... OUCH! ... I don't think THAT can be swept under the rug under any circumstances. But, you all will have to ask our resident Aggie about that ... Professor?
