Should I assume she was devastated by Andrew as well?

A hurricane doesn't destroy every home in its path. They did have some damage. I think the record would differ from the statement "Miami didn't take much damage."

I will agree that in the 51 years she has lived there, this is the second hurricane to hit Miami. Damage to her house is TBD.

re: "My mother lives near SW 40 St in Miami and there was quite a lot of damage just south of there."

And your mother, nacl? Should I assume she was devastated by Andrew as well?

If not, she's making my point. How long has your mom lived in South Florida? Has a hurricane EVER destroyed her home?

I think it's pretty likely that TEOTWAWKI is going to cost most of us more than our homes. Of course, it might be a subtle 'frog in boiling water' thing, sneaking up on most of us without our even knowing it.

Today, I read that half of Americans haven't got a pot to pi$$ in. For them, TEOTWAWKI has already come. For the rest of us, it might be a little more obvious.
