You're asking the wrong person. I consider our situation to be utterly unfixable: There's a cliff. We've just taken a step off of it. Now we're wondering how to keep from falling.
It's not precisely like that. I mean, if I were a dictator, I could pull us out of our slump. It would kill millions of people because one of my first steps would be to default completely TODAY on both social security and Medicare, but my ruthless solution would be better in the long run than the chaos that is going to ensue (and which will also kill millions) one day if nothing is done about our debt.
"Nothing" is precisely what's going to be done because it isn't human nature to upend itself to avoid a threat that hasn't burned anyone yet. I think the Global Warming fanatics are learning this lesson right now.
We are going to collapse . . . since that's what arrogant spendthrift empires always do. I don't know if my little island of solitude in the woods will be isolated enough to protect me from whatever is that's coming, but it's the best that I think an ordinary person can do. De, I think that was well said, except I think we have more power to affect our own reality like where we live than the entire system that may produce TEOTWAWKI or is moving towards it at an increasing pace. How does the average person find the time to figure out what needs to be done to the international system to fix it, although pushing through voting is one mechanism, voting out Cuomo for irresponsible spending or Congress-critters for corruption and pushing bad policy, for example. But how does the average person impact the broader picture, policies of the elite like revolution or the FRB or, even Soros and his organization, which also appears to be buying politicians on top of fomenting revolution and that socialist empire of the impoverished? The picture is cloudy through the use of conspiracy theory as a defense mechanism, as well, making it difficult to even pursue and define what truth is.
