Agreed, micro ... but 'we' ostensibly elect them - and the mobocracy supports the 2-3-4-5 rebuildings.
Throw the bums out sounds good - but it never happens.
Realistic - but 'we' (the mob) have given away our power to the feds - every time we refuse to submit to a strip search at an airport, allow a cop to search our vehicle without a warrant, allow our churches to be told what they may or may not say, allow our government to behave illegally ... Yes - liberty requires constant sacrifice - there are prices to pay for all those actions - not just on the battlefield, but also in our daily lives.
Sherriff Jo stood up to government illegality - and he paid the price.
So, yes, micro WE have behaved stooopidly in allowing those rebuildings. Do you refuse to buy insurance ? If not - then you are helping to fund the thieves - while consoling oneself that to not do so (buy insurance) would be foolish. There's another 'price to pay' for liberty - which most are not willing to pay- the risk of calamity.
