It's not the browser, though a good ad-blocker would keep us from seeing the customized ads being sent our way when we're on the internet. Perhaps you have one and that's why you don't have this issue.
I work on Saturdays - so I'm in the office right now and have to live with the locked-down desktops the office provides. The office web browsers neither have ad-blockers nor the ability for staff to install them. (LOL. I'm the IT Security guy here, so it's actually my policy that's being enforced.)
To answer your question, though, this happened to me today with Google Chrome.
