The latest prediction (11:00 EDT) is that Montauk Point has a 52% chance of tropical storm force winds, but only 1% chance of seeing hurricane force winds. From the National Hurricane Center: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIAPWSAT2+shtml/181446.shtml

I see Jose's a lot closer to the coast than it was. Still a Cat 1, 90 mph winds.

Received THREE tropical storm watch alerts from NOAA to LI.

Based on NOAA's cone and interesting heat map, the hurricane should turn out to sea or at least miss LI. Looks like there's a chance it could follow the warm water up to Nova Scotia, though.

There's a load of storms out there:

Cat 1 - Jose
TD - Lee
Cat 1 - Maria (she didn't like being called old)

Eastern N. Pacific:
TS Norma - off Mexico/Baja
Cat 3 - Otis expected to go out to sea
