micro, I was the lucky one. I was
drafted. My big brother was sent
to Vietnam. So I could not be sent
there. I spent my two years in the
states.

I hope for the same thing for you De.

My parents did not want me going off but my draft number was so low I was gone anyway so I just chose to be a Marine instead of an Army soldier.

I can relate to the walking. the Bungee sticks and holes that had them and poisonous snakes in them for us to step on or fall into were always on your mind and trip wires hidden so that you would be maimed, blown up in pieces and several of your squad if you set one off accidentally.

Always a lot to think about out on patrol and moving through the bush..

Veterans, most will tell you that they would not wish anyone having to go to war because they know how difficult and horrifying it is.

I am just thankful that I was one of the fortunate ones whose time was not yet up in God's plans for me and that He has used me to be a spokesman for HIM.

Only through HIS GRACE was I and still am able to be a normal person and I can easily see why so many come home with all kinds of trauma and emotional psychological disorders.
