Several Tophatter things arrived today:
o A second "Pailipu" shaver (I got the first one two weeks ago). Found out that the company's slogan is "It's not just a shaver. It's a Pile o' Poo!"
I think maybe they need to work on that.
o Drone #3. The other two were white, but #BDM!
I got a little concerned just now when I was retrieving the drone information and saw the "$38 shipping" message on the right. (See the screenshot below.) WTH?? So I checked my credit card receipt and verified that, as I had noted in my log of purchases, I was billed $30 and ZERO for shipping. I don't know where that $38 came from but I ain't payin' it!
The controller for this drone isn't the one shown in the picture. That one has no display but can transmit to the pilot's smart phone. My controller has a display, but it's a very small LCD display. I have no idea what that will look like. Maybe it's text-only. I also don't know if my drone has support for a phone like the one that's shown. I'd guess so since a rack for holding a smartphone is in the box.
This looks like a pretty decent toy, and the cheapest ebay price I see for it is, coincidentally, $38.
o And the watch-repair magnifier arrived. $6 total, including shipping.
I haven't flown the drones yet so my opinion might change, but overall I'm quite happy with the things I've bought on Tophatter. The quality is decent, and if you're VERY careful in your bidding, you can get good deals. As I said a couple of times, I shouldn't have bought those silly coins, and the rearview camera was something of a ripoff since it didn't come with a display. I should have read the fine print, but the ad showed a camera and display. What am I going to do with the camera? *Nothing*
On the other hand, I really like some of the things I paid next to nothing for: The Yazole watch, the $1 spy camera I bought today, an $8 drone I bought yesterday, maybe even the $3 pile o' poo shavers.
