In football, "taking a knee" symbolizes giving up, surrendering or, perhaps, declining to participate. That, at least, is how I'm reading the kneeling that football players are doing during our national anthem.

I think it may be similar to what happened to South Africa. Eventually, the whites were ousted from power and the minorities took charge. I don't know if that's the result we'll have in the United States, but if no one resists, then almost certainly. We can see, after all, that the courts aren't going to step in to stop the wrongs that are being committed. Justice is shot. I don't think businessmen are going to protest either. Nor the entertainment industry. Nor the media. They're all complicit.
The citizens are divided.
Who does that leave? The military. Which direction will the military go?
In my opinion, we no longer have a union. It can only go from bad to worse in the coming years.
