In football, "taking a knee" means giving up, surrendering or, perhaps, declining to participate. That, at least, is how I'm reading the kneeling that football players are doing during our national anthem.

I think it may be similar to what happened to South Africa. Eventually, the whites were ousted from power and the minorities took charge. I don't know if that's the result we'll have in the United States, but if no one resists, then almost certainly. We can see, after all, that the courts aren't going to step in to stop the wrongs that are being committed. Justice is shot. I don't think businessmen are going to protest either. Nor the entertainment industry. Nor the media. They're all complicit.
WE KNOW A COUPLE WHO LIVED IN SOUTH AFRICA AT ONE TIME. THEY SPOKE SO HIGHLY OF THEIR EXPERIENCE, THAT I ASKED WHEN THEY WERE GOING TO RETURN. THE ANSWER WAS, "NEVER." SOUNDS LIKE A COUNTRY RUN BY DEMOCRATS, DOESN'T IT? I PRAY WE NEVER END UP LIKE A THIRD-WORLD COUNTRY, BUT YOU MENTIONED SEVERAL GROUPS THAT I WOULD NEVER COUNT ON TO PROTECT OUR COUNTRY. I USED TO HAVE SUCH HIGH REGARD FOR OUR INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITIES. SADLY, NO MORE.

Who does that leave? The military. Which direction will the military go?
I PUT THE MILITARY IN THE SAME CATEGORY AS OUR INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY. I USED TO COUNT ON THEM, AND TO A DEGREE, I STILL DO. BUT WOULD THEY TURN ON US, THE CITIZENS, IF NANCY AND CHUCK ET AL TOLD THEM TO DO THEIR DIRTY DEEDS. LOTTA FAKE NEWS OUT THERE.
In my opinion, we no longer have a union. It can only go from bad to worse in the coming years.
MAYBE PREZ TRUMP CAN ATTEMPT, AND PERHAPS SOMEWHAT SUCCEED, IN RECTIFYING SOME OF THE PROBLEMS WE ARE SUFFERING THROUGH RIGHT NOW. I CAN'T SEE THE WALL, THE TRAVEL BAN AND ELIMINATING STIFLING REGULATIONS AND SO FORTH COULD HURT.
BUT, "THEY" WILL NEVER LET HIM WIN.
