I think I am going to focus only on college football unless they start up with this crap.. Then I will find other things to do with the limited time I have...

I grew up playing football. An all state offensive lineman for two years. Also played basketball, baseball, and ran track. Yes, I was an athlete when much younger... Played class A mens softball until age 42. Took up golf in my twenties, self taught and have played one round at par and usually have a 12 - 14 handicap. I don;t play as much as I did so am rusty and the arthritis does not allow me to fully twist, rotate, and use my body in the manner needed to accomplish full and good golf shots anymore...

I have lots of projects to work on that have been neglected as mrs. micro reminded me of this morning.

So I will use the time for other important things...

Hope Joey is doing well in his new home away from home....

re: "Somehow, I think the damage is irreparable.. "

I agree. One of the things that they failed to appreciate is that football, like most things, is a habit. An acquired taste. Just a few weeks after I stopped watching in 2016, the void was filled by other things that I found just as interesting. At this point, I don't miss football. I enjoyed the Superbowl and will probably continue watching it, but football as an annual event seems just about right. It will be like the Olympics - something to savor once every blue moon and to otherwise ignore.

And that's what the NFL is going to have to deal with. When fans stop watching, even for a little while, their addition is broken. Many will not return.
