Hi Kathy,
she still is. She is in her 15th year of teaching advanced sciences in the local high school she attended.
WHOA, 15 YEARS OF INSANITY! DOES SHE TEACH AP CLASSES - SEEMS LIKE THAT FROM YOUR DESCRIPTION.
You have pretty well nailed it about the classrooms and the teachers themselves have little input anymore.
IN MY LIMITED EXPERIENCE, IT WAS CALLED "ZERO INPUT."
They get their grading orders from the District and superintendent and they don;t fail many kids today who show up in class, lay their head on a desk and sleep the whole time.
I HAVEN'T HEARD OF ONE KID "STAYING BACK" IN A VERY LONG TIME.
Fortunately, my daughter rarely ever gets one of these types as her classes are almost all college credit classes.
YEP, SOUNDS LIKE A.P. - ADVANCED PLACEMENT. PRETTY COOL THAT SOME KIDS CAN START "COLLECTING" COLLEGE CREDITS WHILE STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL.
She has told us may times how downhill fast the kids coming to school actually behave.
WHAT A SHOCK, GRRRRRR.
She says a lot if it has to do with parents who simply don't teach them any respect for those in authority and their precious little children would never behave like they do and they can't understand why their child is being picked on.....
AND THEN THEY GROW UP WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS AS ADULTS. BUNCH OF PANSIES.
My child knew if she came home and I got word from any of her teachers she was creating a problem, or she didn't study for her classes, her life was basically over as she knew it...
SHE TURNED OUT MORE THAN FINE, MICRO. BUT YOU AND MRS. MICRO HAD A HANDLE ON THINGS AT HOME. I WAS AFRAID OF MY PARENTS! I THINK I TURNED OUT OK, TOO.
Kathy is right that schools are going downhill fast and the breakdown in that society is rapid...
No respect, no self worth, no ambition other than sell drugs, content to be a moron.....
AND (AGAIN) THEY GROW UP AND PLAY IN THE NFL.
Kids raised by millennials..... Only thing worse than a millennial is a child of one...
I HAVE ALMOST NO USE FOR MILLENNIALS.
THIS IS DIFFICULT TRYING TO CATCH UP!
If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
