Harumph!!!! lol!!!!!!!!!!!
Good, simple explanation that is logical and completely understandable.
I built my house in the country. today, I am in an area in a rural county that has built up and all the farmland is gone, replaced with stores and malls and lots of traffic and too many other houses and apartments. The Brilliantly STUPID Commissioners did not have the wisdom to grasp that existing INFRASTRUCTURE like ROADS and run off water would be greatly taxed and their solutions are always to destroy someone's home who has lived here for decades and destroy their memories. Got to make way for all the "johnny come lately's" who have moved out this way.....
I will likely stay here. My house is paid for. Been for a very long time. It is the right size for two of us...
It is energy efficient to the nth degree.
That said, NOBODY is going to invade my home looking for food and live to tell about it.
I get what you are doing, and understand why....
I have prepared differently than you but I also believe that when this hits the fan, the Second Coming of Christ is likely to occur right before that.
Anyway, I wish you guys much success and perseverance in your endeavors to make a safe place for yourselves.
Since I don;t feel like getting shot in my older years, I will stay off people's property uninvited, especially those who are not looking for "guests" as you cannot tell who is coming to steal from you and who is not.....
Make sure you got plenty of rounds of ammunition and plenty of various firearms as well. Takes all kinds. Some for close up use and some for at slight distance and at farther distance. Shotguns, handguns, and rifles...
LOTS of ammo for all. Obviously know how to use them effectively.
Hope your barn works out for you. Storage is always a premium. Rule of thumb is if you think you need something a certain size, triple it and you might be right....
Just life experiences.......
Best to you!
