Well, the 'uncivil war', complete with the SS brownshirt brigades HAS already started. Antifa, BLM, muslim molesters et. al. escalating actual violent attacks.
Fail ? It depends on your selection of actual goals.
Physical overthrown violence ... yes, they will fail.
Strengthening the centralization of US government power and paving way for more statism and eventually, globalism ? They have been succeeding for decades.
Their objective, imo, is NOT directly winning a physical battle, but in destoying individual freedom, liberties, and love of liberty over life - it is to condition people into WELCOMING even more government intrusion and control over their lives.
Given THAT statement of actual objectives - the question of whether they will fail or not is very much in the air. Currently - they have been winning every step of the way - with only minor, and inconsequential, setbacks along their modern day Sherman's March.
