When I was on vacation last week . . .
We went to the Cass Scenic Railroad, in West Virginia.
Momma was the ringleader and we had a lot of fun.
Watching and riding the choo-choo trains.
Note the big pile of coal behind it and the conveyor belt - that is how they get coal into the coal car.
They have what I would call a 'bobcat' though it might
actually be a 'skid steer' - looks a little like a
baby bulldozer they use to pick up the coal, and dump
it onto the conveyor.
This one is Shay number six getting a drink of water.
Note how the pistons go up and down and that drive train.
All the locomotive wheels have pinion gears.
