re: "TOO MUCH WORK......"

Some of it is work: Mowing lawns, cutting down trees, chopping wood, harvesting various foods and canning, for instance. A lot of it isn't. Buying things isn't work. Hunting isn't work. Neither are projects. I don't view building things as "work." Or learning to cook. I'm doing them because they interest me, not because I have to. If I lose the interest then, yeah, they become work. Or they don't get done at all.

And I've got a whole section defined as "for pleasure."

So it's not as bad as it first appears.

The list is still growing, of course. I just thought of "Learn to weld" - an essential skill if I'm going to make a still or a wood-burning pickup truck. And there, I've got several more purchases and projects.

De!

TOO MUCH WORK......

Albeit, that is the lifestyle that YOU, an individual has chosen. So what people do in retirement or semi retirement depends largely upon their interests , where they want to live, geographical area, and what things do they really like to do versus necessities.....

I composed music when I was in high school. I wrote many of the halftime shows for the 150 member marching band.

I had scholarships, full ride, to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.

I play all the woodwind instruments and own several still. I play occasionally for pleasure.

Oddly, I am only member of my family who literally cannot play the piano. My eldest daughter was extremely gifted in that and my older brother is a concert pianist.

I did not get that gene for some reason....

I had the privilege and good fortune to delay my education until after the tour of duty and attended college with the help of the GI Bill and the fact that tuition just was not that costly then.

I continued my education throughout my working life. I am a lifelong student and I read extensively and exhaustively.

IN retirement, I am unsure what I want to do other than enjoy my children and grandchildren and my beloved wife of 43 years.

I don't have an extensive list like you do. I do want to go and see a few things though if I can get my wife to go with me. She has some physical issues so she does not travel without getting into pain.

I would like to write a book sometime. I would like to leave notes and counsel for my children for when I am gone to be the Lord.

I want to share CHRIST with many people so they who do not know for whatever reason that salvation is of HIM and in HIM alone and is completely free if they would simply believe HIM and come to Him in simple, child like faith, believing that HE is able to take them into HIS heavenly kingdom and live there forever if only they would place their trust for that in HIM alone.... Nothing else. Just Him!
He already did the work. ALL he asks is for us to believe Him..

Beyond this I have no plans. I do not know about tomorrow. I do not know what God's plans are for the life He has given me. So I can dream, have desires and wants, but honestly, I don't know if tomorrow I may be called home to Heaven by HIM! That would be okay... A wonderful thing..

WHEN you see the world crumbling around you into civil disobedience, chaos, and the people "roaring" and all the things you are prepping for, those are days that are prophesied of and when they arrive, the Trumpet is going to sound and the believers in Christ are going to be caught up in the air after the saints who have gone on before rise from the grave. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.

I will not be here for that turmoil and so I do not fret nor fear it. I am prepared for it in case it is just societal breakdown and not the second coming. But I really cannot see how it could not be the beginning of the end of times.

Anyway, I have written way too much this morning.

Those are my plans Decomp. I do wish you well and the best in doing what you think is best for your families own good and safety.
