Thanks starlight and Nemo! I'm at the mercy of the builders, as far as the photos they choose to share. There will be a few though, and I'll post them.
I think the plan for this year is to pour the foundation and cap it. Framing begins in 2018. Since the project is running late, I'll probably be up there "helping" next Spring instead of moving all my junk into it as I'd once hoped. I have to put "helping" in quotes since I'm sure I'll hinder as much as help. We'll see how that goes.
Once the barn is done (and maybe even before it is done), we can start on a house - which reminds me - I have to nudge my wife to get her back to reviewing house plans. I thought I had a nice plan picked out a few months ago, but she didn't like the entry. She was right about that, of course, but I liked everything else about it so I'm disappointed that we're still undecided.
The contractors may have idle time soon. For instance, when my builder is working on the barn, the excavator could start digging out the basement for the house. Maybe that could be poured next year - giving the builder something to do in 2019. The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned. I like the old property (that has not yet actually been lived in), but the new land is really, really nice and I'm chomping at the bit to be there.
