That's it in a nutshell.
Can't do nothing, lead time to get ONE new one's from 5 months to 5 years and the few places that make them are already backlogged. Not to mention, it's not a mass production line. No electricity or capacity to manufacture anything to fix the broken computers and such. And if we're really unlucky, we get burning wires. It's only a few billion to protect these things. With all we spend, this is a no brainer.
Not sure if I mentioned NK has satellites that approach the US from a direction we can't watch. And no kind of missile defense will be able to react before they pop off a bomb. We wouldn't know what hit is. And they could also proliferate or pass nukes off to third parties to avoid being held responsible for the hit. This is why NK and Iran (partners in crime) must be stopped now.
