De

Nah to the Q tip They spread it and scrubbed it with small brush, then irrigated with more iodine, then cleaned that some more with gauze pad, and irrigated with something else that was cold as could be and stung..

This slice from a NINJA blade from the blender is DEEP and about a full inch long. From the tip pf the finger down to the crease of the joint. The doctor asked whether I wanted to stitch this or to seal it with derma bond glue....

I chose the glue. And the wrap to keep it together (steri strips) Doc said it would take six stitches to close it, possibly seven. a couple inside too.

I don't like stitches and having to remove them myself so I opted for the glue job... I would have used super glue gel myself if I thought it would be safe to use and not poison me... lol!!!

Anyway, the novacaine is wearing off and the adrenaline rush has ended so now it is throbbing and hurts.

What a way to start the week-end!

Hope you have a much better start to yours!

Sorry to hear that, micro. Finger stitches are no fun, but such are the days of our lives. I've got scars across the top of my index finger from the... one... two... three... four... FIVE stitches they gave me the time I sliced it open while sawing through a wire tie with a single scissor blade. (Lesson learned: It's REALLY dumb to use scissors as a knife!!) That was 30 years ago and the cut- and stitch-scars are still very visible.

I'm sure you'll have a nasty scar as well. Let me know if they stick a Q-tip into the wound and scrub it out with iodine the way they did with me. I could see the bone while they were doing that.
