TWO over rated football teams got beat by FAR and away inferior teams in college football last night.

Washington State got gobsmacked by Cal.

Clemson, the invincible, pre-crowned and ordained champ of college football got taken down by the powerhouse SYRACUSE Orange football team.....

Wazzu is fun to watch. I love Mike Leach. He is anti-establishment and a great innovative football coach....

However, that team did not belong in the top ten because they did not play anybody and the upset USC, which in my view, is not and should not have been ranked higher than maybe a top 20 or 16 team at best. They simply are not that great either. So Wazzu upset them and now suddenly they leap frog a lot of very good teams into the top ten and then what?

They get THUMPED huge by the lowly Cal Bears, a .500 ball team who is playing better but is not a top 25 team either... A 3 loss team already.

HYPE is to blame. Leach remains humble and to the point. They were outplayed and Cal wanted this game more than them and it showed....

Good for coach giving credit where it is due, to Cal players.

I wonder who else is going to bust Wazzu's nuts this season besides The Huskies of Washinton? Maybe UCLA or Arizona State? UTAH?

It will happen.

Clemson is now a target with a huge bullseye. Syracuse made it look easy to. A far less talented team rose up and beat the over hyped, cannot be beaten Clemson Tigers with supposedly FOUR first round NFL defensive linemen.

Let's see where all these voters rank the teams on Sunday and Monday....

IF PENN STATE manages to survive their remaining schedule unbeaten, I think they can beat Alabama in title game then.

I don;t think that is going to happen though. They play three real teams in three weeks.
WISCONSIN, MICHIGAN, and of course next week, OHIO STATE AT Ohio Sate.... That should be a very good schlobberknocker battle..... Penn State's future depends on this game... They got lucky last year. I don;t think that is going to happen two years in a row.

Then they go to Wisconsin, a big, physical team who blocks extremely well and has an awesome power football game.

Anyway, a fun weekend of football ahead.
