I heard a football player quoted on BBC
(I listen all night) and he indicated that the country is not living up to the
promises made and or suggested by our history concerning black people.
I TOTALLY agree in sentiment,

I must disagree Mein Pope.
This country went through a thirty year program that should have brought blacks
up to the point where they could continue 'up the ladder'.
In the 1970's it was integration of the schools - so's the black kids could get the
same educations that the white kids was getting.
In the 1980's it was affirmative action in hiring and higher education. So's blacks
could get the educations and jobs necessary for higher pay and better opportunities.
In the 1990's it was minority set aside programs.
The government guaranteed contracts for blacks.
To put it more simply, a black guy my age should have gotten his education in the 70's,
mastered his trade in the 80's. Became a businessman in the 1990's and now be in a
position to help other blacks up the ladder of success. Hiring, contributions to the
united negro college fund, mentoring . . .
So what happened?
Today's college graduates have less educational chops than my generations high school graduates.
Far too many black Americans today wallow in a cess pool of
self pity and accept heinous behavior as 'normal'.
Last time I looked for a statistic, for every black guy killed by the police there were some
27 black guys killed by another black guy. And yet there is not a single black 'movement'
or black leader willing to recognize that 'they' have a YUGE problem.
