'morning, micro.

re: "How do you gain access to re-surface it?"

That's a good point. If it's a half-height wall, I'll be able to reach into it with a paint brush. If it's full height, I don't think there's much choice except to make the exterior windows removable.

I don't know how bad the problem of fading will be. Remember that the air between the wall and the glass circulates. While the paint might get hot... hopefully it gets hot... I doubt it will be "super heated."

Maybe the best option is to use some sort of black brick on that side of the wall. Some walls are built with bricks on the exteriors and poured concrete into the interior. I don't think brick would fade.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

good morning De!

On surface a wall like this looks like a good idea but in reality I wan to point out only one thing for you to take into consideration as I am one who is considered an expert in coatings and finishes.

Black paint on the exterior of that wall in an 8 inch wide air space with glass exterior.

With super heated air space when sun is exposed on that surface, and sunlight will be magnified by the glass, that black paint is going to fade and weather away. How do you gain access to re-surface it?

Just something to consider before you actually do this. I like the general concept of using mother nature's very own source of heat which is free, but am only concerned about the durability of the paint and how you replace it......

just doing a little thinking before I leave for my first appointment today.

Greetings from Youngstown.....
