The problem is not so much the heat as it is the U.V. rays of the light.

The company I represent makes powder coatings as do competitors for architectural structures and skyscrapers in particular that can fight the U.V. fade for about 15 years then it starts to fade and lose color.

This is due to U.V.

Like patio furniture on your deck that is powder coated white with a cheap polyester coating that fades in two years and gets worse from there.

You have a magnifying glass in front of that painted surface that U.V. rays are going to have a field day with a paint of any kind.

We should give this a little thought before hand imo...

Just trying to help you keep planning ahead ...

Got to get going now...

'morning, micro.

re: "How do you gain access to re-surface it?"

That's a good point. If it's a half-height wall, I'll be able to reach into it with a paint brush. If it's full height, I don't think there's much choice except to make the exterior windows removable.

I don't know how bad the problem of fading will be. Remember that the air between the wall and the glass circulates. While the paint might get hot... hopefully it gets hot... I doubt it will be "super heated."

Maybe the best option is to use some sort of black brick on that side of the wall. Some walls are built with bricks on the exteriors and poured concrete into the interior. I don't think brick would fade.
