Actually wasps and bumblebees can sting you multiple times. Their stingers are smooth. Honeybees can only sting you once. Their stingers are barbed, and remain embedded in your flesh - pulling out the bees poison sac at the same time. That is why honeybees die after stinging you.

I was gonna say the good news in that story is they won't get you again, because they die after they sting ya. Then I saw the gift that keeps giving, ouch!
