She sat up, gripping the webbing to keep herself in place. Then she put her feet against the wall, released the webbing and pushed off sailing across the room. With one hand she caught the rail of the crib then pivoted around so her feet were against the wall. She reached down and pulled back the webbing. Mac looked irritated, he didn't like the loud alarm. She knew Mac had no problems with zero gravity.
Liana pulled Mac out of the crib and tucked him against her waist securing him with one hand. With the other she grasped the foot rail of the crib, then pushed off with her feet pivoting around till her feet were on the floor beside the crib. There was the baby carrier. She tucked Mac into it and belted him in snug. She ensured the carrier was clipped to the ring in the wall then she reached inside and stroked Mac on the side of his face. She crooned softly “is OK” in human to him. The alarm stopped and Mac smiled up at her.
The ship wide spoke “This is only a drill.” It was the Captain. Liana pulled loose the harness that was behind the carrier, put it on, and clipped herself to the floor.
The door opened and Lady Trillia glided in. She had the knack of just gliding across a room, almost as if she were walking without moving her legs. Trillia reached inside the carrier and checked that Mac was secure. She could see the harness Liana had on was clipped to the floor. She smiled at Liana and said, “Very good.” She then glided over to where the intercom was and pressed the button, “All secure here, you may restore gravity” she said.
