So, Friday night I went to a restaurant owned by a long time friend and his wife, both right wingers, and we do talk plitics until we discount each other and change subject.
This time somehow there was a comment about the NFL thing, and during the discussion, I asked him if he had ever been profiled as he is a white blonde guy.
I got an unexpected answer, he said yes, and I said you’re kidding me right? He said no, and “he almost dragged my ass to jail for not wearing a seatbelt, which I was wearing over a dark sweater, and it wouldn’t show well.”
I said “well, what did you tell him, that almost got you arrested”?
He said: “i am always very polite, but I am not going to go into all that now”.
Translation: “I am bullshitting you”.
He had the option of actually justifying his bullshit about being profiled in NY, by a black cop, which is literally hilarious, and he chose to stay with that wet dream of his.
He was actually trying to say that the cop saw this white guy in his car and stopped him for not wearing a seatbelt that was hard to see over a dark sweater, and that must be profiling. Now, the details about “almost” being arrested at that point I can leave to your imagination.
It just doesn’t compute. I have no words nor further comment other that when I heard that statement I thought “there is a deluded white priviledged baby crying wolf”.
As for the NFL thing, he’ll owe me a dollar, because he said that will all end with them having to stand for the anthem, and I told him, it will never happen. So, we’ll see.
