Let me share something with y'all. My oldest daughter is a highly intelligent, fun loving person who was very over weight. She finally got a a wake up call on one of her visits to her doctor and found out she is close to having to take medicines for diabetes and high blood pressure.
She is a beautiful young woman when she is not way over weight. The test results and having to take them again in thirty days to determine whether she will be required to be on medications scared her.
SO, she talked with another teacher she knew who had lost a lot of weight and asked how did she do it.
She has been eating what she refers to as "clean food" since then. NO artificial crapola added to real foods and definitely no frying anything in grease or adding sugar of any kind. Real chicken, real beef, juices, etcetera.
First month she was down 19 pounds. Test results were within acceptable range.
Second month she was down 31 pounds total.. She is continuing on to drop another 20 pounds. She looks so much better and feels so much better.
We got our real daughter back. The kids got their real mom back and she is a different person.
FOODS have a direct impact on us. Whether it is causing diseases as the article points out, or keeps the weight off of us simply by eliminating all the things that add weight to us.
We need to make better choices of what we put in our mouths and for us older farts, those habits die hard.....
