EXCLUSIVE: Trump campaign supervisor grilled by
Mueller, grand jury
Sam Clovis, a Trump campaign supervisor who encouraged a meeting between Donald Trump and Russian leaders, was questioned last week by special counsel Robert Mueller's team and testified before the investigating grand jury, a person with first-hand knowledge of the matter told NBC News.
Clovis, the supervisor of George Papadopoulos, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in the Russia probe, responded "great work" after Papadopoulos discussed his interactions with Russians who wanted to arrange a meeting with Trump and Russian leaders. He is now Trump's pick to be chief scientist of the Agriculture Department.
