Did you listen to Trump's comments in front of his cabinet this morning? He is coming totally unhinged. He was making everything about himself and blamed the Democrats for everything that was not going exactly as he wanted it to. And he makes statements that are totally false, or at best, very misleading, like condemning President Obama for wasting EIGHT years trying to destroy ISIS, when ISIS didn't even exist until 2014.
And this visa program that Trump blamed on Chuck Schumer, it had basically been in place since the 1980's under Reagan and was officially codified under George W. Bush. And the truth is that Schumer and other Democrats, as well as several Republicans, tried to overturn/modify this law as part of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform package, that the Republicans never allowed to come to a vote.
Another thing, did hear Trump and other Republicans quickly offer all sorts of ideas about how to prevent something like this in the future, everything from changing immigration laws, to requiring more surveillance of suspected radicals (i.e. Muslims), to making it harder to rent a truck. But when some White Christian American shoots and kills 59 people in Las Vegas, NOTHING...
