...ga tech has been known to beat Georgia when we least needed it and this year would be one of those times. It has been said of tech that if they don't win a game all year as long as they beat Georgia at the end of the year it's considered a victorious season. As to the tech sportsmanship, many of ya may remember the tech student body pelting the Notre Dame football team with cans of sardines several years back. The tech football players had to go stand between the fans and the notre dame team to get it stopped. I don't care much for Notre Dame myself but that was over the tops.

re: "...all upright citizens of Ga is required to hate Georgia TEch."

You should be happy. While we were in Charlottesville Saturday, UVA handed Georgia Tech its walking papers. No post-season for the Yellow Jackets.

It was a nail biter. I listened to the last ten minutes of the game, and the lead switched twice and looked like it was going to be three times. In the final 30 seconds, GA Tech was down by 4, had the ball, first down, on Virginia's 30 ... and UVA stopped 'em cold.

With that win, UVA goes into the playoffs for the first time in I-don't-know-how-many years. The town got kind of excited. Actually, the entire campus was a zoo, and since I wasn't there for the game, it was actually a pain in the butt. Parking was $30 and nowhere near where we had to be... so we didn't park at all and didn't do much of what we'd planned. Got to see the boy and that was about it.
