Well, I must admit that I do not carry while mowing my lawn - I personally do not know anyone who does - but, I doubt if that would have done Rand Paul much good, anyway ... apparently, he was tackled from behind hard enough to immediately suffer 5 broken ribs. Quite frankly, I am surprised the initial charge is only a misdemeanor fourth-degree assault since it appears to be an unprovoked sneak attack that resulted in broken bones. To me, that smacks more of a felony than a misdemeanor. So, IMHO, either we have not heard the whole story or the charge will eventually be upgraded ... unless, of course, Sen. Paul is very forgiving and has asked the police to go easy on his neighbor.
