Yep, true. And horse manure is great fertilizer, but it has to cure for a few years or it will burn the plants, I think. Not sure about cow manure, but my mother told me a story of someone in the family having a boil or sore of some sort on their leg and cow manure drew out the poison, used as a poultice. It turned white. Yucko!
