Keystone pipeline approved by Nebraska regulators, clearing major hurdle
The Nebraska Public Service Commission voted 3-2 to approve TransCanada Corp.’s Keystone XL pipeline, clearing a regulatory hurdle for the proposed $8 billion, 1,179-mile pipeline that would link Canada's Alberta oil sands to U.S. refineries.
The five-member commission rejected TransCanada's preferred route and opted for one that moves the pipeline farther east.
