Such folks inhabit a space in which Dems are portrayed as believing wicked, unamerican things.
For myself, I always think it's worth trying to understand why folks think what they think, and that means listening to them.
But ultimately, it appears to me, that Republicans believe in theories not facts, and this means no conversation is really possible.
eg I'd love to find some example of supply side economics doing much other than creating deficits. But in the Republican mindset, it's a theory without the need for proof. Growth will appear to compensate for any budget deficiency, as if by magic.
