I know,,,, I DON'T use arc welders anymore and when I say keep the rod dry, It is the rod, not the welder that under performs. Bad rod wont hurt the welder, just weld like chit, and hard to start the weld.....

You will know if your rod has absorbed moisture, It wont weld very good if at all.........

How good of a deal is it? It's used. Is this a "drop everything and buy it" good deal, or just a DECENT price? It's okay if you don't know... I'm just hoping you do since it would make my decision easier.

Also, when you say it's important to keep the rod dry... do you mean that if it wasn't kept dry, the unit might be ruined? Or are you just passing on an arc-welding tip to always keep the rod dry? I wouldn't know how to check on that particular problem... Sad
